Musician

Sarah Tobias is a musician working live and in the studio on saxophones, clarinets, and flute, most notably in reggae music. She has played on many recordings, with music ranging through salsa, son, ska, reggae, merengue, soca, hi-life, hip hop, house, lounge... She also has dabbled in various other instruments and musical styles. She started her own home studio in 2010, from which she engineers- mainly horns and vocal overdubs- for other artists and producers...She also has several production credits under her belt.

 

Sarah has played at many venues in her current hometown London, including The Jazz Cafe, The O2, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, The Roundhouse, The Scala, Hammersmith Apollo, Hackney Empire, The British Film Institute, Fabric, Barbican, Ocean, the V & A, The 100 Club, Ronnie Scott's, Ministry of Sound, and was the first live musician to play the Miniscule of Sound...

 

English events she has played at include Glastonbury, Boomtown, Latitude, The Big Chill, Notting Hill Carnival, Boss Sounds, The London International Ska Festival, One Love Festival, Secret Garden Party, Shambala, Skamouth, British Independent Film Awards, Bestival...She has also played in Britain, Ireland, Spain, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Italy, Sicily, Poland, Austria, Denmark, Lithuania, Louisiana, Texas, Bahrain, Ghana, the Caribbean and Russia.

 

Sarah has played on boats, cruise ships, and buses, on a steam-powered merry-go-round, on the streets, in the middle of a lake, under the trees, on hilltops, strapped in a chair up in the air, with DJ's on the dance floor, at all kinds of special events and ceremonies...
